We provide safe, spacious, and comfortable boarding for both dogs and cats in the heart of the countryside.

Our facilities are regularly inspected and hold a 4-star licence, but more importantly, they reflect how much we care about the animals we look after.

Dog Boarding

  • Licensed for up to 35 dogs — but we usually cap stays around 15 at a time for a quieter, higher-quality experience.

  • All dog kennels are indoor units, fitted with heating and air conditioning.

  • Dogs are given three exercise sessions per day

    in our secure ½-acre field.

  • We provide bedding, toys, and tailored routines where possible.

  • All dogs are monitored closely and given personalised care based on age, breed, or temperament.

Cattery

  • Licensed for 18 cats, with both indoor and outdoor run options.

  • Clean, insulated enclosures with space to stretch, relax, and feel secure.

  • We keep stress levels low with thoughtful layouts and minimal noise.

  • Owners can bring familiar items if they wish to help cats settle in.

  • Feeding routines can be matched and any medication can be administered if needed.

Conditions of Boarding at Lower Hey Boarding Kennels &-Cattery

  • Dogs can only be accepted on condition they are fully vaccinated. All dogs must be inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza and Canine Infectious Bronchitis. Although we do not insist that dogs are inoculated against Canine Infectious Bronchitis (Kennel Cough) The Kennels strongly recommend you discuss this matter with your vet as this is caused by a complex virus/bacteria only some of which respond to the vaccine. Should you have your dog(s) vaccinated against Kennel Cough the vaccine must be administered at least 2-3 weeks prior to boarding. Please note: Dog(s) showing signs of Kennel Cough or any other contagious disease will be turned away.

  • NO dog will be accepted into the Kennels without a completed booking form, a UK contact name, address, and telephone number are required. Owners/contacts will be asked to remove difficult animals from kennel. Owners must make the contact aware of this responsibility. It is emphasized whilst every care and attention is given to your pet, the proprietors accept no responsibility for injury due to your dog/ behaviour whilst boarding in our kennels/.

  • Owners are liable for any damage inflicted upon staff or property by their animal(s).

  • In case of accident or illness The Kennels will use their own vet.

  • All dogs must be fit, in sound condition and of pleasant disposition when entering Lower Hey Kennels. In the event of your pet falling i l during boarding we reserve the right to call in a veterinary surgeon. All costs to be borne by the owner. This will include any vet call-out charge, treatment, transportation etc. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure there are sufficient funds to cover this.

  • All customers are asked to supply their pets with their own food/diet. We advise owners bring enough food to cover their pets stay.

  • Should any pet be found to be hosting fleas, the person responsible for collecting the animal will at the time of collection, be liable for all costs of treating the environment. It is owner's responsibility to de-flea their own pet.

  • It is stressed that all dogs must always be on a lead when owners bring and collect them as we accept no responsibility for loss or injury.

  • Dogs and cats from the same household cannot share pens and will be housed in the correct designated areas.

  • Beds and toys are not required, they will be supplied. Please note: we accept no responsibility for loss or damage to customer belongings i.e. any type of bedding, toys, leads etc. The Kennels are cleaned daily and toys etc are easily lost when bedding etc is changed. Therefore, the kennels please ask that you do not bring anything precious or anything you would not want to lose. The Kennels cannot guarantee bedding will be returned and or in the same condition it was brought in. Any destroyed or soiled bedding will be disposed of. It is the owner's responsibility to notify any persons prior to collecting any animals on behalf of this condition.

  • No owners will be permitted to take their pets into the kennels for insurance and safety purposes. This also helps reduce stress on the animals being boarded.

  • Dogs can only be accepted or Depart within the business hours. Owners or anyone authorised must call the next day if unable to reach Lower Hey Boarding Kennels & Cattery by closing time on the day of departure, or, the next time of business, whichever is applicable. Please note the business hours can be found on the website lowerheykennels.com. During the busy period animals must be collected on stated day out unless otherwise agreed with the Kennels. , .

  • Kennel prices includes day of drop off and day of collection. All fees should be paid either on arrival or collection by cash or card. Fees are not negotiable. Deposits that have been paid to secure a booking are NON-REFUNDABLE. No booking will be complete without a completed booking form along with a deposit of 50% of total booking fee. Please make deposit payments to the account below using pets name and owners surname as a referance.
